The event took place the day before yesterday in the evening in the city centre near the restaurant where policemen celebrated the retirement of one of their colleagues. CCTV records show that a man passing by spotted keys in the ignition of one of the police cars and decided to take advantage of the situation.

In the beginning, Walter drove around the neighbourhood quite ordinarily, occasionally using the siren. After a while he stopped by a nearby liquor store and, using a uniform left in the car, grubbed two bottles of the finest whisky from the shop clerk. He started with one of the bottles even before he got back to the police car. Things started to look sketchy.

Feeling adventurous, the man proceeded to drive more aggressively, drifting on the intersections and hitting cars that did not give him way on the traffic lights. Using the fitted bullhorn he offended the pedestrians often making sexist comments about women passing by.

Then he got the idea to force other drivers to pay him for made up violations. He stopped the cars and persuaded the drivers that they were speeding. The witnesses said that intense smell of alcohol around him was hard not to notice and he was speaking unclearly.

Eventually the man caused an accident with another driver after which he left the car and went for a party in a nearby club. He is wanted and may face up to 5 years in prison for motor vehicle theft. The prosecutor considers adding more charges.

Rosconmoe Police Department today

The recent event of illegally obtaining and using one of our police cars is being under investigation by the department of internal affairs. Officers involved have been suspended until the case is closed.

In order to recreate the course of the events, the policemen had to patch CCTV and GPS records of the unfortunate police car together. Also, more than 30 witnesses of various incidents that happened that night were questioned.

There is an additional proceeding in progress in the municipal police headquarters regarding improper securing of police property and late reaction of the authorities. The police spokesperson does not want to comment on the matter before the case is closed.

Funny as hell, but was it worth it? Spending couple of years in prison cause of doing something that silly?
