Rosconmoe, Ireland. Search is in progress for the man who performed a night race through the city driving a stolen police car. According to initial findings the suspect is Walter Taylor (23). Reportedly he was under the influence of drugs.
The event took place the day before yesterday in the evening in the city centre near the restaurant where policemen celebrated the retirement of one of their colleagues. CCTV records show that a man passing by spotted keys in the ignition of one of the police cars and decided to take advantage of the situation.
In the beginning, Walter drove around the neighbourhood quite ordinarily, occasionally using the siren. After a while he stopped by a nearby liquor store and, using a uniform left in the car, grubbed two bottles of the finest whisky from the shop clerk. He started with one of the bottles even before he got back to the police car. Things started to look sketchy.
Feeling adventurous, the man proceeded to drive more aggressively, drifting on the intersections and hitting cars that did not give him way on the traffic lights. Using the fitted bullhorn he offended the pedestrians often making sexist comments about women passing by.
Then he got the idea to force other drivers to pay him for made up violations. He stopped the cars and persuaded the drivers that they were speeding. The witnesses said that intense smell of alcohol around him was hard not to notice and he was speaking unclearly.
Eventually the man caused an accident with another driver after which he left the car and went for a party in a nearby club. He is wanted and may face up to 5 years in prison for motor vehicle theft. The prosecutor considers adding more charges.
